Pensioners go to bed early in carer mix-up
PENSIONERS receiving home care in Sunderland are having to go to bed early because carers repeatedly turn up at the wrong time, it has been claimed.
Coun Denny Wilson told Caring UK that since the council outsourced their home care services to agencies, some elderly clients have complained that carers are turning up hours earlier than requested - forcing people to go to bed at a time that does not suit them.
He said: 'The agency staff are often turning up early - sometimes over an hour early - and it's upsetting the people being cared for."
